awareness, and joyful engagement through sensory-motor activities.

Body Exploration Sessions” Program Overview
Length: 30–60 minutes
Frequency: 1–3x/week
Facilitator Role: Movement Coach
What to expect in a session
Each session follows a consistent, intentional pattern
Warm-Up (5–10 minutes)
- Light stretching with music
- Free movement with scarves or ribbons
- “Follow the leader” games using basic motor patterns
Core Exploration (20–30 minutes)
- Sensory Walks: Walking barefoot on various textures (mats, grass rugs, squish pads)
- Movement Stations: Climbing, crawling, or swinging on sensory-safe equipment
- Mirror Moves: Participant copies coach’s slow or expressive movements—play based
Expression & Choice (5–10 minutes)
- Participant picks movement tools (e.g., yoga ball, weighted blanket, fidget toy)
- Optional guided breathing or body squeeze
- Option to journal, draw, or dictate a reflection on what felt “fun,” “hard,” or “interesting”
Our goals for sessions are to
- Support sensory regulation through safe, structured movement
- Increase participant agency through choice-based sessions
- Encourage creative expression through motor play
- Build awareness of personal preferences and boundaries
Important note:
These sessions do not assess motor deficits or progress
